Ey! Iran: an insider’s perspective 10 November

Find out more about Iran, its people and their culture in this fascinating talk with Lady Faimeh Burke. Born and raised in Tehran, Lady Burke will discuss why Iran is also called Persia and explain the country’s unique calendar and its identity, including the dominant Zoroastrian and Shia Islam faiths.

Ey! Iran: Contemporary Iranian Photography 9 October – 29 November

The social realities of hope, temptation, nostalgia and introspection are captured through the Persian lens. This exhibition depicts a culture surprisingly similar to our own, with narratives of family live, suburban sprawl and poignant observations of a country immersed in longstanding customs and traditions. Ey! Iran was developed by Gold Coast City Art Gallery and is toured by Exhibition Services Ltd.
